From dreams of organising an American-style cookout to running a portfolio of five popular festivals – meet the team behind some of the South West’s most distinctive events: Bearfoot Productions.

Launched in 2019 by friends Tim Messinger and Tom Newton, now directors of the independent events company, Bearfoot Productions’ first offering was a finger-licking experience for fans of brisket, burgers, ribs, hot dogs and all manner of culinary treats from the States.

The first-ever Rock n Ribs Festival brought roughly 3,000 people to a one-day show at Henstridge Airfield. Today, it’s a three-day, family-friendly festival at Somerset’s Bath & West Showground, combining smoked meats with country and rock music, monster trucks, BMX displays and line dancing.

Not content with just one festival on their roster, Bearfoot took their flair for mixing mouthwatering food, music and entertainment and put it to work across a growing line-up of events.

Country in the Park brings live Americana, rodeo bulls and southern-style food to Poole’s Upton Country Park. The venue also hosts Upton Country Park Festival, where UK tribute acts take on rock, pop and indie favourites.

At Dorset Tractor Fest in Shaftesbury, the team puts a lively spin on the traditional country show, pairing agricultural attractions with live music, lawn mower racing, freestyle motocross and wrestling.

Bearfoot also helps run Teddy Rocks Festival. What began as a small charity gig has since become a major Dorset music event, raising more than £800,000 for children’s cancer charities.

Five festivals, each with its own identity, all built around giving people an experience that creates lasting memories. We’re proper chuffed to be partnering with such an amazing team, and we’re chomping at the bit to help them achieve their goals over the coming months.
