Welcome to the first Skiddle Update of 2023. We hope you’ve had a fantastic break over the festive period, and if you put on any events for the new year, we hope your customers were treated to a memorable evening.

To kick off this year’s Skiddle Update, we’ll be sharing some key Skiddle stats from 2022 and we’ll let you know how you can add your events to our brand new comedy feature, ‘Skiddle’s Last Laugh’. Elsewhere, our ‘Blog Spotlight’ feature returns, showcasing the fresh content that has been published to our Promotion Centre blog.

But before we get started, remember that this year brings opportunities to list lots of new events and plenty of time to plan promotion around them. Make a note of paydays, bank holiday dates and student loan paydays. It will save you time in the long run and ensure that you can get the best out of your events calendar for 2023.

Key stats from 2022

The entire Skiddle team is looking forward to a successful 2023. A new year brings fresh opportunities and new ways to break ground. However, it’s important to take stock in what came before, which is why we wanted to highlight our performances in 2022.

We attained a massive 94% retention rate last year, a testament to the hard work done behind the scenes. 12,100 new promoters listed their events with us, and 5.5 million tickets were sold. Scroll down for the infographic and see all the stats below.

We want to thank all the promoters who worked with us, too. Delivering memorable events to customers is a joint effort, and we look forward to deepening the relationships with promoters and brands, as well as building new ones in 2023.

Skiddle’s Last Laugh

Are you a comedy promoter looking to deliver belly-laughing events to your customers? Looking for a way to promote them? Well, look no further than Skiddle’s Last Laugh.

Here at Skiddle, you know we have a love for sound systems with the loudest frequencies. But we also love having a right good laugh, and we’re always trying to bring a varied selection of events to our customers.

Enter Skiddle’s Last Laugh. It’s a brand new monthly feature from the team, highlighting the best comedy events on sale on our website. We’ll be running an ‘Inspire Me’ page alongside it, with events from across the U.K. featured.

If you’d like your event featured in the guide and Inspire Me page, get in touch with your dedicated Account Manager or our Account Support team. You can also let us know on the Skiddle Promoter Twitter account, which can be found here.

Blog Spotlight

Our ‘Blog Spotlight’ showcases the latest content on the Promotion Centre Blog, designed to bring promoters valuable and actionable information.

This week, we published the first post of 2023: Welcome To Skiddle. Here, we’ve rounded up six of the newest additions to the Skiddle fold, including forward-thinking festivals, family-oriented food and drink events, and the extension of a partnership with a crucial U.K. venue.

Here at Skiddle, we’re all about joining the dots, whether that’s directing customers to great events or directing promoters to great venues. Click here to view the article and learn how to make contact if you have ideas for collaboration.

We’ve also published a guide to using the Twitter Pixel, a piece of code you can paste into your website to track the activity of users who interact with your ads on the platform. Click here to view it.

Updates to the Promotion Centre

With a new year comes new additions to our Promotion Centre. There’s now additional information available on the main dashboard, such as event start/end times, which can help if you have lots of very similar events. Use the ‘columns’ button on the dashboard to add these additional fields,

Checkout questions and answers are now visible to view within a customer’s order, using the Order Admin screen. You can also download these in bulk as a CSV by clicking the ‘Export’ button.

We’ve recently improved the interface when creating checkout questions. There will be a new preview which reflects how questions are displayed on the Skiddle Checkout, plus better grouping of questions for complex setups.
