Skiddle launches ‘Destination Ibiza’ marketing campaign for 2023

The recent Bank Holiday weekend marked the official opening of the Ibiza season in 2023 with many of the White Isles’ most infamous clubbing hotspots opening their doors once more following the winter break.

Promoters, club owners and hoteliers based on the island are predicting one of the longest and most profitable seasons in its history this year, following a bumper year in 2022 which saw music tourism return for the first time post-pandemic, attracting more than 3 million tourists. 

The IMS (International Music Summit) Business Report, published just last week, highlighted a return to form for the electronic music industry in the wake of Covid-19 with revenue up 34% year-on-year to $11.3 billion across all categories, 16% higher than pre-pandemic levels. Assisting with the industry’s impressive rebound, ticketing for club events in Ibiza particularly was shown to have made a great contribution to the figures. Ticket sales were up a staggering 55% from 2019 translating to €124 million in revenue in 2022, most of which was attributed to the increase of events happening on the island and the rise in average ticket prices. 

Reflecting the predictions made by those operating in Ibiza, the Skiddle website has been inundated with event listings for the now-underway season, up markedly in comparison to previous years. All of these are set to be advertised to our millions of monthly website visitors as part of our 2023 ‘Destination Ibiza’ marketing campaign. 

Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be ramping up the content with special features set to unearth everything from the history of the island to its influence on dance music and club culture in the modern-day. There’ll be interviews with artists, who’ll share details on where Skiddle customers can catch them live in Ibiza this year, as well as insightful conversations with some of the island’s most esteemed clubbing brands, offering tips to those looking to bring their own events to the world-renowned dance mecca.

In addition to the above, we’ll also be producing search engine-optimised roundup features, published via the Skiddle blog, promoting venues and the events taking place within them throughout each of the summer months. We’ll be curating our own Ibiza Inspire Me page and landing pages, currently attracting upwards of 85,000 visitors per month, creating specially tailored social media content, video and ads, producing guides and downloadable resources to help get burgeoning event organisers set up in the Balearics, and sending regular weekly newsletters concerning all things Isla Blanca.
