Swipe left, swipe right… It’s a format many dating app users are familiar with, but for the first time the feature has been applied to the live music industry, giving Skiddle users, an opportunity to review gigs, clubs and festivals.
Introduced to improve transparency, promote good parties and weed out poor ones; music fans can rate the success of an event by swiping left or right, depending on how much they enjoyed a set. Our aim is to give music fans a greater say in the success of events.
This is the first time the technology will be used outside of dating apps like Tinder, and the app is the most accurate reviewing platform on the market, with updates available on the app in real-time, free of charge.
Swiping right for yes and left for no, the platform will prompt users as soon as they leave a venue. Taking less than a minute, other aspects of the evening will also be available to rate, such as the venue, drinks prices and atmosphere.
The results of the artist swiping and event reviews will be made available to event promoters within the Promotion Centre. This data can be analysed to find which artists were most popular at an event, then pick up feedback to improve in the future.
