Black Friday. It’s everywhere. Traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year, complete with riots over discounted tellies and Shark cordless vacuums (also available in the Boxing Day sales, it’s worth adding), it’s now turned into a month long excuse to fire as many offers at your inbox as possible.
Here at Skiddle, it’s not that we don’t want you to be part of that – we know many of you will want to make a special ‘Black Friday ticket’ available to customers to help boost pre-Christmas sales, and we know other ticket outlets will be encouraging you to do so – it’s just that, as ever, we want to do things differently.
So this year, at Skiddle, on Friday 29th November, Black Friday becomes Green Friday.
The principle is the same, with a whole load of discounted tickets available via our website and app, but this time we’ll be giving 20p from every ticket sold direct to Macmillan Cancer Support. (Why Green Friday? Well, they’ve got green branding…)
We’ve been working with Macmillan Cancer Support for some time now, raising almost £250,000 via our checkout charity. The relationship began following the passing of our friend and colleague, Christopher Glaba, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in December 2016. With statistics showing that one in two of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives, it is important to all of us at Skiddle that the work of Macmillan continues for a long time to come.
That’s why, on Friday 29th November, we’re swapping Black Friday for Green Friday, and donating 20p from every ticket sold to Macmillan Cancer Support – whether it’s a special offer ticket or not.
To be included in our Green Friday round-ups on the Skiddle website and app, please set up a Green Friday ticket offer and include #greenfriday in the short description of your event listing.
