The exhilarating highs and crashing lows of the 2017 Festival Season have been well documented, but this Wednesday 11 October, Skiddle are gathering together industry experts to speak out together for the first time for another of our promoter-focused events.

The Skiddle Social (Festival Special) will take place in London’s Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen on Wednesday 11th October, will unpick what went well and what went wrong during 2017 – including a discussion around the disastrous Hope & Glory Festival.

This will give anyone involved in the marketing of the festival industry, from PR companies, promoters, artists and more, the opportunity to meet our team to discuss festivals in detail, as well as what we can do for you in terms of ticketing and content. We’ll also be hosting two panels at the social, focusing on the past present and future of the festival season.

The first will look back on 2017, a tumultuous but ultimately rewarding season which has seen a handful of high profile failures set off against continuing excellence from the UK scene. In particular, we’ll be looking at what the key things that have been learnt this year as a consequence of all that has happened, as well as celebrating the events and music that have defined 2017.

That leads directly into a look at what is forthcoming in 2018. How will the lessons of 2017 be taken on board? Are we set for any new technological trends to dominate the way we experience and think about festivals? And what artists are going to blow up and own 2018? All these and more will be ruminated over by our panel of experts.

Together, we will also be looking ahead to 2018: what can we expect from the new season and how do Festivals large and small continue to innovate in an increasingly challenging and competitive environment.
