Festival production company The Fair have launched ‘It Takes A Village’ and ‘Your Festival Needs You’.
‘It Takes A Village’ is a documentary that follows The Fair’s senior staff as they help produce Gottwood Festival, El Dorado Festival, Boiler Room’s Burgess Park event and Eastern Electrics Festival.
From rail strikes to poor weather, ‘It Takes A Village’ pulls the curtain back on festival production. We hear the stories, opinions and experiences of the hard-working staff that make the events industry tick.
Viewers are shown an up close and personal view of how the events they love are brought to life as the documentary shows how a festival is put together and what happens when external challenges like rail strikes occur.
The documentary gives an insight into the planning and fast thinking behind an operation like this.

Alongside the film, The Fair have launched the ‘Your Festival Needs You Campaign’.
The campaign is designed to celebrate the value of festivals in a bid to gather vital support for independent events.
‘Your Festival Needs You’ sees industry figureheads talk about the importance of events, their favourite festivals and best moments at festivals, urging the public to take advantage of early-bird tickets and talk to their friends about festivals.
The Fair has invited a range of industry names, including Danny Howard, to speak about his love for events. Speaking to The Fair, the Radio 1 Presenter and DJ said: “Festivals are vital to DJs and artists because sometimes that’s their window to be discovered.”
Music lovers and festival enthusiasts are encouraged to join the campaign by posting a selfie video on social media that shows their passion for events, using the hashtag #yourfestivalneedsyou in the caption.
Head to The Fair’s Instagram page below to find out more about ‘Your Festival Needs You’ and consider supporting this vital campaign.
