Always a highly anticipated fixture in the music industry calendar, Brighton Music Conference returns this May, bringing with it a packed programme of panel discussions, well-being sessions, and events.
We’re delighted to announce that we’re official sponsors of this year’s event and will be hosting our own dedicated space at the conference, featuring a full programme of events and thought-provoking discussions — from early morning sound baths and yoga sessions to panels on mental health and beyond.
Speaking about the sponsorship, our Head of Festivals & Partnerships, Duncan King said:
“We’re absolutely over the moon to be sponsoring the Health, Wellbeing & Lifestyle stage at this year’s Brighton Music Conference (BMC). The opportunity to partner with this year’s BMC was timely, as it immediately follows Mental Health Awareness Week.
To kick off Mental Health Awareness Week, we announced the findings of our year-long mental health survey, which captures the voices, experiences and needs of people across the industry. But most importantly, our presence at BMC marks the start of our response to the issues raised from the survey.”
We’re committed to furthering the conversation around mental health in the industry, which is a large part of why we’ve programmed the talks in Theatre 1 to help and inform those who work in music and events.
Let’s take a look at our involvement in more detail.
Sponsoring Theatre 1 – Harbour Hotel
We’ll be sponsoring Theatre 1 at Brighton Music Conference, which takes place at Harbour Hotel on 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
You’ll be able to catch our Head of Festivals & Partnerships, Duncan King, moderating two panels. We’ll also bring together DJs, creatives and industry experts for a panel on authenticity.
Let’s take a look at the panel discussions in more detail.
The Power of No
What: Here, Duncan and our panel of renowned DJs, artist liaisons, tour managers and PR staff will discuss saying no and staying balanced in the music and events industry.
When: Thursday 23rd May, 11am-12pm, Harbour Hotel, 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
Why you should attend: When the long hours and late nights stack up, saying no to that networking event or night down the pub can be challenging. Join us as we share tips and tricks to be confident enough to take some time for yourself.
The Case for Being Yourself
What: Top industry professionals will share insights on authenticity and building a career rooted in integrity.
When: Thursday 23rd May, 11am-12pm, Harbour Hotel, 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
Why you should attend: Ever felt the pressure to conform to the scenes you see on social media? Algorithms and engagement levels can create pressure to present a certain image that isn’t in line with our authentic selves. Our panel will come together to discuss how showing up as yourself is crucial, creatively and emotionally.
Who Is Looking After The Industry’s Mental Health?
What: In collaboration with Music Minds Matter, our panel will discuss mental health in the industry, the resources available to staff and cover new initiatives that promote positive mental well-being.
When: Thursday 23rd May, 11am-12pm, Harbour Hotel, 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
Why you should attend: In our recent Mental Health Survey, we found that 48% of respondents didn’t know where to find relevant support. With the numbers this high, it’s vital that we host panels that signpost people to support. Come down, discover where the help is and pass it on to your peers.

What Else Is On Offer at Theatre 1?
Check Your Levels – Taking Care of Yourself in Music (In Association with Music Minds Matter)
What: Helen Whitaker from the British Association for Performing Arts (BAPAM) will lead a self-help session, teaching you how to care for your mental health and spot when you’re starting to feel down.
When: Thursday 23rd May, 1pm-2pm, Harbour Hotel, 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
Why you should attend: You wouldn’t promote an event without a ticketing platform, so why go through life without self-care techniques? Learning more about how to look after yourself and others can give you the resilience needed when times are tough.
Healing Soundbath
What: A meditative sound bath session with crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, gong chimes and shamanic drums led by DJ and yoga instructor KuraZana.
When: Friday 23rd May, 9:30am, Harbour Hotel, 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
Why you should attend: Ease into Friday’s conference and centre yourself with this soundbath. It’s a great way to prepare for a day of networking and information absorbing.
Eat, Sleep, Rave, Relax
What: Music industry dietitian Sally J Freeman will bring her 20+ years of experience working alongside artists and DJs to Brighton Music Conference, instructing attendees on how to master their diet for health, well-being and performance.
When: Thursday 22nd May, 4pm-5pm, Harbour Hotel, 64 Kings Road, BN1 1NA.
Why you should attend: Attendees will pick up tips on how to optimise nutrition pre and post-show, what to eat to stay energised and a whole lot more. This is perfect for a promoter to pass on to artists they book.
Across Thursday and Friday, Theatre 1 will also play host to panel discussions on neurodiversity and DJing, breaking the stigma on severe mental health conditions, burnout, hearing loss and much more.

Ticketing
We’re delighted to say that Skiddle is the official ticketing partner for Brighton Music Conference.
Tickets for the event are available on our website, and the team have also elected to use our Ticket Widget feature, which allows potential attendees to buy tickets directly from the BMC website.
Whether you’re attending the panel discussions, wellness sessions or are looking to make new connections – Brighton Music Conference is the place to be this May.
We can’t wait to see you there.
