Sustainability is high up on the agenda for event organisers and the wider industry in 2025, and rightly so. As we witness wildfires in California, major winter storms in the southern states of the US, and frequent floods across Europe and Asia, it’s never been more pressing to prioritise green, carbon-neutral practices to safeguard the future of our industry and the planet for generations to come. With this in mind, we’re immensely proud to announce our latest partnership with the dedicated climate change platform, SkootEco.
A pioneering startup focused on sustainable practices within the events industry, SkootEco boasts a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, having already planted over 1.2 million trees and removed approximately 26,000 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere.
Recognised as a top B Corp for Governance and Transparency, the platform aims to support the events industry in creating eco-friendly, impactful experiences while promoting a healthier planet.

How Does the Partnership Work?
Upon reaching the checkout when buying tickets to events, customers will be offered the chance to play their part, by donating towards activities to help offset their carbon footprint – such as carbon countering travel to events by planting trees. The customer sets the donation amount with a minimum of £1 recommended.
Event organisers listing their events on the Skiddle platform can also seamlessly embrace eco-friendly initiatives, making it easier to host greener events without the hassle, by accessing a list of free resources and dedicated advice from the SkootEco team.
Organisers will also be able to use the carbon calculator – coming to the Promotion Centre soon – to measure their event’s carbon footprint and take steps to reduce its environmental impact.
Commenting on the recently announced partnership, Greg Gormley, CEO and co-founder of SkootEco said:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Skiddle to integrate meaningful climate action into the heart of event experiences. By countering their carbon footprints, event-goers can not only help protect the planet but also support vital projects that uplift communities in need. Together, we’re proving that incredible events and positive impact can go hand in hand, setting a new benchmark for sustainability in the industry.”
