It’s hard to believe we’re already in November.
There are a few significant holidays in the penultimate month of the year: Bonfire Night, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
We’ll cover Bonfire Night on the blog in the coming month, so keep an eye out for those articles. For now, though, we’re going to take a look at Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Taking place on the 24th and 27th of November, the two may conjure up images of people fighting over 76-inch TVs and battling for the latest cut-price speaker system, but did you know that both holidays can be helpful for promoters?
Eventgoers will jump at the chance to get a discount on their favourite gigs or club nights. So, running some Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts may help you get over the line and on your way to selling out.
But don’t just take our word for it. According to Retail Gazette, online sales are expected to account for 63% of all Black Friday spending in 2023 and UK consumers are expected to spend an average of £189.59 each in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales in 2023. It’s unclear whether the latter accounts for the online and in-person sales, but it’s still a significant figure.
Gen Z lead the way in the sales estimations, with 79% of the people from this generation expected to spend 56% more than the national average.
These are the people who could be buying tickets to your event.
This year, Skiddle are doing several things to help promoters on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In this article, we’ll show you how to make the most of the holiday to boost your ticket sales.
Send our discount codes to potential attendees
This Black Friday, promote your discounted events with the code ‘blackfriday23’. Encourage customers to enter this at checkout so they can receive deals on your events.
For those that want to set up their own promotions for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the video below will show you how.
Get your event on our Black Friday & Cyber Monday Inspire Me pages
Our ‘Inspire Me’ pages compile all the best events on one page. They’re designed to make it easy to find a specific event.
We love to let people know where they can save, too. So, on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we compile Inspire Me pages to direct customers to the best deals.
This year, those pages will have regional splits. The potential attendees of your event will be able to search in their area.
Want to get involved? Contact our Account Support team. They’ll pass your details on to our content team, who’ll get your listing on the relevant pages.
Your event will be easily discoverable to customers. They can come to the Skiddle website, make a few clicks and be presented with a knockout night for a cut price.
Shout about it to your social media followers and we’ll take care of the rest.
Refine your approach with our customer newsletters
Our Customer Newsletters show the best gigs and club nights to eventgoers in every region of the UK.
It’s all about refinement. When you’re promoting an event, you want to get it in front of the people who live in the area.
By getting your event in the relevant regional newsletter, you can make sure the people in your area know that you’re giving out amazing deals over Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Plus, getting involved is easy. Contact your dedicated account manager or our account support team and go from there.
Alerts in the Skiddle app for Black Friday and Cyber Monday
Spontaneity is crucial for a promoter. Often, people will round up their friends and decide to go out on a whim.
To encourage this and help get your Black Friday sales moving, we’ll send out an alert on the Skiddle app on the 24th of November.
The alert will send users to the Inspire Me pages. So, potential attendees can browse and buy tickets for the events with the best deals directly from their phones.
When it’s that easy to buy tickets and there is money to be saved, the prospect of going out becomes irresistible.
