Brits love a Bank Holiday. So much so that over Easter 2025, UK pubs, clubs and bars saw a 6.8% rise in takings when compared to the previous month.

That spending surge? It’s yours to tap into. People are actively looking for events and if you nail the promotion, you’ll see hundreds to thousands of smiling faces breezing through the venue doors.

But you won’t be the only promoter with this in mind. So, get ahead with tools like Discount Codes, which you can set up in minutes and use to help you hold flash sales and competitions. This drives urgency and gets potential customers excited about the thrill of winning.

And that’s just the start. Scroll down to see how Skiddle can help you smash your Bank Holiday event goals.

RapidScan

With RapidScan, long wait times and queues around the block can be a thing of the past. It’s the ultimate tool for entry management and attendee safety.

Available on iOS and Android, RapidScan lets you scan a ticket per second, check the validity of tickets and track how many people have entered the venue.

Your attendees will buzz through the venue doors, ready to have the time of their lives at your event.

Oh, we forgot to mention: it’s FREE to download!

Not only do you have a free tool which prevents queues and helps you keep people safe, RapidScan also performs validity checks on tickets, protecting you and your team’s hard work.

When you know how many people have entered your event, you’ll have all the information at your fingertips, meaning you can keep your attendees safe throughout the night.

Our FAQ page has everything you need to know, and you can view it below. More of a visual learner? Check out our How-To tutorial which takes you through the process of setting up the app.

Event Brands

Now you’ve got a reliable scanning service, why not show your events off in an appealing manner?

Say hello to our Event Brands feature. It houses all your events in a slick and intuitive interface, heightening their appeal in a stylish hub. In one click, customers can be taken to the listing once they’re ready to buy.

The buying process becomes more efficient thanks to a clean and intuitive interface, giving you a higher chance of gaining those all-important ticket sales.

Plus, you can tag your events to your Event Brand. Once a customer has bought tickets, they’ll automatically become a follower of your brand, meaning you can send alerts for forthcoming events in the calendar.

Accurate targeting means better engagement, which gives your events the best chance to be successful.

As always, our FAQ section has everything you need to know about Event Brands. Tap the button below, learn more and reap the benefits today.

Remind Me

So, you’re gearing up for your Bank Holiday blowout. You’ve downloaded RapidScan and set up a Brand Page. What’s next?

Anticipation building.

The best events have people eagerly waiting for the next drop, counting down the days until tickets drop and setting notifications on their device of choice.

You can build this anticipation with our Remind Me feature, which lets your customers sign up to receive an email or text message about your forthcoming event at 8pm the evening before and 1 hour before tickets go on sale.

Now, you’ve got a direct line to your customers away from all the noise and distraction that life can bring. This creates urgency.

People will want to buy before tickets sell out, which can lead to early sales, improved attendance and an overall better chance of selling out. This revs up your chance of success.

You could build anticipation through savvy social media use by encouraging people to sign up for Remind Me, then advertise your event directly to them through the alerts.

Ready to supercharge your event attendance? Tap the button below to learn more about Remind Me and get started today.

Waiting List

Your tickets have gone on sale and what’s that? They’ve sold out? Congratulations! You and your team have put in the hard yards and been thoroughly rewarded.

However, the clamour for a sold-out event is still high. But don’t sweat it: our Waiting List feature can help you use that clamour to your advantage, letting your customers snap up tickets by signing up to a queue once all the tickets have been snagged.

When tickets do become available, those diligent eventgoers will be notified via text message, push notifications in our app and email, with a 20-minute window to buy.

This helps you to minimise no-shows, improve event attendance and streamline your workflow. No more hours working through a bloated email list; just direct any customer queries about tickets to the Waiting List sign-up link. It’s like having both hands on the trophy.

If you’ll excuse us for tooting our own horn, the process is designed to be fair to customers, and that benefits your event. When people have a positive experience with the feature, they’re more likely to view your event favourably, stay loyal, and buy tickets again in the future.

Make marketing your Bank Holiday event easier with our help

Now, for the fun part. You can use our features to help you attract the people who’ll love your event. Let’s take a look at them below.

Discount Codes

Most of us will have swiped a few items at cut price now the end of season sales are in full swing. So why should events be any different?

Do your customers a solid this Bank Holiday and offer them some money off. You can do it with our Discount Codes feature, which lets you generate single, multi and unlimited-use discount codes in less time than it takes to make a cuppa.

They soup up your marketing strategies, too.

Say you hold a competition on Instagram, giving the first 30 people to comment a discount for your Bank Holiday event. Or, you keep a number of tickets back and create a discount code to hold a flash sale in the middle of the sales cycle.

You’ve instantly created an incentive to get involved. People will want the dopamine rush of getting something of value — in this case, your event — for a price lower than they normally would. They get a great deal, you end up with a sales boost in a critical period and everyone goes home happy.

Watch our How-To video, read our FAQ and offer your customers a great event at a great price.

Artist Alerts

Skiddle’s Artist and Brand Alerts are smart tools that help you reach the people most likely to attend your events. By tagging relevant artists in your listings, notifications are sent to users who already follow similar acts, putting your events directly in front of an engaged, interested audience. Similarly, Brand Alerts notify followers of your event brand whenever a new event goes live.

These tools offer a simple yet effective way to increase the visibility of your listings whilst driving ticket sales, especially useful in a competitive Bank Holiday.

Check out our FAQ articles on Artist & Brand Alerts for more information.

Reps

You’ll need several tools in your arsenal when attracting new attendees over the Bank Holiday.

Alongside Discount Codes and E-Flyers, our Reps feature can help you spread the word about your event.

You could draft in friends, family, students or regular eventgoers to sell tickets for your event in exchange for commission or rewards which you can set in The Skiddle Promotion Centre.

They say two heads are better than one, right? In this case, it could be five, ten or twenty heads, who you could assemble together to create a street team which goes out on the ground to sell tickets to the general public. Kind of like a event industry Avengers made up of your nearest and dearest.

If you live in a large city, it’s a great chance to take advantage of the sheer number of people that live there. There is potential to tap into multiple new markets and raise awareness of your event.

Plus, you’ll find out what the general public wants from their events. Think of it as half ticket selling, half market research.
