Dutch hard-techno phenomenon Verknipt Arena has officially claimed the Guinness World Record for the largest laser show ever staged. The record was set on Saturday the 19th of July 2025, during a headline performance at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena, lighting up the venue with a dazzling 1,100 lasers, far surpassing the previous record of 824 lasers from the 2021 Dubai World Cup closing ceremony.
A Spectacle Months in the Making
The world-record performance was part of Verknipt’s grand finale at the 40,000-capacity arena. The production featured a 360° stage, a rotating DJ booth, and custom-coded laser rigging, culminating in a stunning 10-minute “Verknipt Experience” that fans and organisers alike describe as historic.
In a statement, the Verknipt team noted:
“We didn’t just break a world record, we’ve written history… It was a shared moment of connection we’ll carry with us forever.”
Line‑Up & Legacy
The headline event featured back‑to‑back sets, including Basswell B2B Onlynumbers, Cloudy B2B Novah, Cynthia Spiering B2B Paul Elstak, Dyen B2B Fantasm, Nico Moreno, and more. Since launching in the Netherlands in 2012, Verknipt has evolved from an underground movement into a leading force in the global hard-dance scene, hosting over 20 events annually across 11 countries.
Only last year, they sold out the Johan Cruijff Arena with 40,000 techno fans, then titled as the largest hard techno rave ever, and this year’s laser spectacle seemed a fitting next step in their ascent.
What’s Next for Verknipt?
Despite closing its chapter at the Cruijff Arena, Verknipt’s journey continues. Upcoming dates include multiple editions of its flagship Verknipt Festival, signature All Night Long events, and the second edition of Verknipt Croatia. The brand shows no signs of slowing down as it cements its position at the forefront of immersive hard-dance entertainment.
