As we gear up to mark an impressive quarter-century in events in 2026, with a monumental party scheduled next month, our co-founders, Ben Sebborn and Richard Dyer, have taken time to reflect on the journey so far in a new StandOut Magazine feature.

Ticket to the top

The piece, titled “Ticket to the top”, dives into the story behind one of the UK’s most established independent ticketing platforms, charting its growth from a grassroots what’s-on guide to a major force connecting millions of eventgoers with gigs, festivals and experiences.

In the Q&A, Ben and Rich discuss how a simple passion project between two friends evolved into a platform used by promoters and venues across the UK and beyond, scaling from local listings into a national ticketing powerhouse.

They also explore the challenges of navigating industry shifts through the years, from digital transformation to the impact of COVID-19, as well as the importance of staying independent in an increasingly competitive market.

Celebrating 25 years of Skiddle

The milestone year isn’t just about reflection – it’s also about celebration.

Plans are already in place for a major industry event at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, set to mark Skiddle’s 25th anniversary in style.

Taking place on Thursday 30th April, the event will bring together promoters, partners and event professionals who have played a key role in Skiddle’s journey for a night of awards, networking and entertainment, running well into the early hours, in true Skiddle style.
