Championing the next generation of world-beating event organisers – it’s kind of what we do at Skiddle.
We like to think we’re there to give a helping hand to these savvy entrepreneurs, to give them a leg up financially and get them started on their epic journeys to becoming household names. We do this through funding initiatives the likes of our regular Skiddle Promoter Fund, open to emerging event planners looking to bring their unique visions to life.
Our most recent fund was open exclusively to budding event organisers in Northern Ireland, and it gives us enormous pleasure to finally be able to announce the latest recipients of said Promoter Fund bursary scheme.
Following two successful funding rounds in 2023, where we distributed over £30,000 to student promoters across the UK and aspiring event organisers in Scotland, we’ve now allocated another £10,000 to emerging promoters in Northern Ireland. This funding provides the essential resources needed to run successful events, helping to strengthen the region’s music and nightlife scenes and ensuring Northern Ireland continues to play a key role in the UK’s live events industry.
Each of the confirmed recipients received a grant of up to £1,000 to support events held throughout the summer season. In addition to the financial support, our expert team also provided winners with invaluable mentorship, offering guidance on everything from marketing and launch strategies to ticketing and key sales dates.
Those who received grants included Plain Sailing, an up-and-coming club brand and zine publisher, Bedroom Community, known for its live gigs and commitment to championing local talent, and Looney Tunes, a specialist in rave events, to name just a few.
Past recipients of the Promoter Fund, the team behind Glasgow club night, PEAK, shared their recent experiences of winning a grant through the Skiddle Promoter Fund, discussing how the funds have propelled their growth. See the full interview below:
