Skiddle and Music Minds Matter Unite to Champion Mental Health in Music

At Skiddle, we know that live events are only possible because of the people behind them—those booking artists, running venues, managing production, and working tirelessly behind the scenes. That’s why we’re proud to announce our new partnership with mental health charity, Music Minds Matter.

The collaboration reflects our shared commitment to improving mental wellbeing across the industry. Insights from our ongoing study show that 80% of people working behind the scenes in live music report experiencing stress and anxiety. Through this collaboration, we aim to provide meaningful support for those who make live events happen.

Backed by a financial support, the partnership will see a series of roundtables, workshops and panel discussions taking place throughout 2025, designed to spark important conversations, create space for learning, and support positive mental health practices. We’ll also be working with promoters, venues, and other key stakeholders to increase awareness of mental health initiatives and help drive long-term cultural change within the industry.

Grace Meadows, Head of Music Minds Matter, commented on the partnership, stating:

“By joining forces with Skiddle, who are actively championing mental health, we can provide vital support and resources to their network, driving meaningful change and increasing awareness across the music industry.”

Skiddle’s Head of Festivals and Partnerships, Duncan King, added:

“We’re thrilled to partner with Music Minds Matter, reinforcing Skiddle’s commitment to positive mental health in the live events industry. Working closely with the independent sector, we’ve seen firsthand the pressures faced by promoters and venue operators.”

In 2024 alone, Music Minds Matter delivered over 5,000 interventions to more than 3,000 individuals working in the music industry. With continued support, the charity aims to reach even more people with accessible, 24/7 mental health services, practical tools and long-term resources.

Together, we’re working to make the music industry a safer, more sustainable space – where mental health is prioritised as much as performance.
