The Network of Women in Events (NOWIE) is launching a fresh take on industry networking with Stride & Social, a new event designed to combine connection, movement, and well-being. Taking place on Saturday, 26 April 2025, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, the event encourages women across the events industry to swap traditional networking settings for an invigorating outdoor experience.
Attendees can choose between a 5K run or a gentle 2-3K walk, followed by a relaxed networking breakfast at Riverside East. Secure baggage storage will be available, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
“At NOWIE, we believe that networking doesn’t have to be confined to boardrooms and bars,” said Cat Kevern, Director of NOWIE. “Stride & Social is about coming together in a different way – getting outdoors, prioritising wellbeing, and creating meaningful industry connections in a relaxed setting.”

The event also marks the debut of Jess, NOWIE’s new Run Club Producer, who expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative. “I’m thrilled to join NOWIE and launch Stride & Social as our first running and walking event. Movement and community go hand in hand, and this event is a fantastic opportunity for women in events to connect in a new and energising way. I can’t wait to see this become a regular part of the NOWIE calendar.”
Stride & Social is open to all who identify as women and work in or around the events industry, including organisers, suppliers, freelancers, and agency professionals. With many networking events traditionally centred around late-night socialising and alcohol, Stride & Social offers a refreshing alternative that fosters wellbeing, community, and shared experiences.
