Pride events are joyous occasions. They’re a time when the LGBTQ+ community can come together, celebrate and have a great party in a safe space.

You’ll have likely seen the large-scale pride events across the country in cities like London, Manchester and Brighton, which take place every year.

But have you ever thought about organising your own?

We’re seeing more and more regional towns pop up with their own local pride events, which we think is fantastic. After all, not everyone can get to a city event easily, and LGBTQ+ residents in all areas deserve to have a place to celebrate their identity with like-minded people.

Or, maybe you’re looking for a new place to list your local pride event.

Whichever your reason, Skiddle is equipped to help you promote a pride event in your local area. The Promotion Centre is a versatile tool, and signing up gives you access to some helpful features.

Keep scrolling to get the lowdown.

List your pride event with Skiddle

Let’s get the basics out of the way first, shall we?

You can sign up with Skiddle and have your pride event listing ready to go within a few hours. All you need to do? Head to the link below and get started.

Once you’ve signed up with us, you’ll get access to The Promotion Centre. It’s our flagship event management tool, letting you set the name, venue and start and finish times for your pride event.

You can also add images, descriptions, tickets and all the relevant information needed for attendees to your pride event.

But don’t just take our word for it. Dan Walker, promoter of Chesterfield Pride, has been listing with Skiddle since 2018. He tells us that “Comparing ticket sales year on year [and] the ease of adding tickets” are specific features that have been most beneficial in promoting Chesterfield Pride.

In addition, Dan tells us that he will “often compare what sales have been compared to previous years”. This helps to focus where he should be promoting, while the Skiddle team have guided him through things about The Promotion Centre he’s unsure of, he tells us that the team “are really friendly, patient and understanding. They can’t help you enough”.

All in all? Dan recommends Skiddle to other promoters looking to organise Pride events in their area, telling us “Yes, I would recommend Skiddle over other ticket promoters I have used previously. Really helpful team with great features and clear pricing.”

By making it easy for your customers to buy tickets

Once you’ve created your pride event listing, you’ll receive a bespoke event page. This contains the images, descriptions and videos you’ve added in The Promotion Centre.

You also receive a unique link to your listing. So, all you need to do is share this with your customers on a Facebook post, Instagram link, or the social media platform you choose to advertise on. Ease of access is crucial here. It won’t take long for your customers to be able to buy tickets and when it’s easier to buy, you’ve got more chance of selling.

The Promotion Centre also allows you to sell tickets via your website. This is arguably even easier than clicking a link, as potential attendees may come to your social media channels in search of your website. Once they reach your website, the first thing they see is ‘Buy Tickets’, which will take them to your listing.

Take a look at Chesterfield Pride’s website, for example. Their ticket widget is at the top of the page and when you click it, you’ll be taken to their listing on Skiddle. Customers can buy tickets in around three clicks.

Giving you access to our Inspire Me pages

Our ‘Inspire Me’ pages compile all the best events on our website into one place. They make finding a specific event a lot easier.

Once you’ve listed your local pride event, you can contact our Account Support team. They’ll pass your details on to our content team, who’ll get your listing on our ‘LGBTQ+ Events & Club Nights’ page.

It’s a way of joining the dots. With your local pride event on our ‘Inspire Me’ page, your event is easily discoverable. After a few clicks, your event will be in front of people in all its glory taking away the worry of having to post to lots of different places. Shout about it to your social media followers; we’ll take care of the rest.

By helping you refine your promotion with E-Flyers

E-Flyers are emails sent out by our Account Support team. They feature the flyer for your event, with links to buy tickets included.

Someone who might be interested in your event will receive an E-Flyer in their inbox. It’ll be aligned with what they like and be sent via location.

For example, if your local pride event is in Chorley, it will be sent to customers in and around that area.

We send E-Flyers to customers who have bought tickets for an event similar to yours. So, there’s a high chance that you’ll be able to reach people who’d be interested in coming to your local pride event.

When you post your event flyer across social media, you’re competing with all the other things someone is interested in. Don’t get us wrong: we’re not saying don’t do this, as social media marketing is crucial to promotion.

However, with an E-Flyer, you’re adding a refined approach to your promotion tactics.
