The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has officially joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events (APPG) as a corporate member, strengthening the growing alliance between the UK’s business events sector and Westminster.
The AEV joins a roster of prominent industry organisations already backing the APPG, including beam, SEC, Racoon Media, Experience Oxfordshire, Togather and Hire Association Europe.
A spokesperson for the APPG welcomed the AEV’s membership, highlighting the critical importance of fostering stronger ties between the events sector and parliamentarians, remarking: “There has never been a more important time for the events sector to engage with parliamentarians from across the political spectrum, to build a much stronger relationship and help unlock the potential of the UK events economy. We would encourage other organisations to join the AEV in working with the APPG to help move the event industry’s agenda forward.”

The APPG’s first official event of the new parliamentary term is set to take place on 6th May 2025, with corporate members and senior industry leaders gathering for a private dinner at the House of Commons. Further events are planned for later in the year, including the launch of the group’s Parliamentary Plan of Work.
Rachel Parker, Director of the AEV, expressed her enthusiasm about the new partnership: “I’m thrilled to have joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and policymakers to raise awareness of the UK events sector in Westminster. Being part of this group allows us to advocate for the needs of our industry, share best practices, and help shape a more supportive policy environment for events. I’m excited for the journey ahead and the impact we can make together.”
The APPG for Events, chaired by MP for Telford, Shaun Davies, now counts 41 members in total — 34 Parliamentarians and seven corporate partners — as it continues its mission to champion the UK events sector within Parliament.
