Manchester nightclub Amber’s has announced a major upgrade to Room 2, installing a custom-built sound system developed by Norwegian audio firm NNNN and New York sound designer OJAS (Devon Turnbull). The new setup makes Amber’s the first venue in the UK to house a system from the acclaimed Oslo-based manufacturer.
The upgrade is part of a broader revamp of Room 2, which now also features a fresh lighting rig and bespoke acoustic treatment. To mark the relaunch, Amber’s will host a party on Saturday 2nd August. True to the club’s signature approach, the lineup remains under wraps, but clubbers can expect a night of house, techno and groove. Tickets are on sale now for £11.25.
“When we opened Amber’s last December, we always said that world-class sound was non-negotiable,” said Jeremy Abbott, Director at Amber’s. “After visiting Norway to hear the NNNN system in person, we knew it was meant for the club. We can’t wait for people to see, hear and feel it in Room Two. As a venue, we strive to evolve and grow with every season—this is another step forward in that process.”
The custom system includes two ceiling-mounted ON-MI speakers, finished in Amber’s signature colourway. “This series is a collaboration between OJAS (Devon Turnbull) and NNNN, combining American heritage with Scandinavian design,” explained Torkel Mellingen, CEO of NNNN. “The ON-MI system reaches down to 30Hz, while the OJAS multicell horn handles the high frequencies, covering everything needed and more across the full frequency range.”
Tickets for the relaunch event are available now via Amber’s Skiddle Brand Page.
