Skiddle vs Ticket Tailor: Which ticketing platform is right for your event?

Choosing the right ticketing partner isn’t about finding the most convenient option. It’s about getting your event in front of the right people, getting the support you need when you need it, and, most importantly, picking a platform where you know you’ll sell tickets.

While Ticket tailor is a basic checkout tool that lets you take payments on your own website, it leaves you completely on your own to find customers. Skiddle is an all-in-one ticketing platform with a massive built-in UK event guide. We don’t just process your tickets – we actively put your events in front of millions of people looking for their next day or night out, driving extra sales whilst also providing you with real human support on the phone when you need it.

UK organisers' #1 choice

Skiddle

Skiddle combines straightforward ticketing tools with powerful promotion to make sure your events are a success. We put your brand front and centre, giving you full access to your sales data and flexible ways to get paid early so you can keep growing your brand on your own terms.

Additionally, our app, push notifications, email alerts, and personalised event recommendations work together to push your listings in front of active ticket buyers looking for their next day or night out.

Ticket Tailor

Ticket Tailor is a self-service software tool used to sell tickets through your own website or brand page.

While they offer a low-fee setup for processing payments, they do not have an event guide, an app, or an audience of their own. They are simply a digital box office. This means you have to bring 100% of your own audience to the page to make a sale. Plus, because they are a fully self-service system, you won’t get a dedicated account manager to help you, meaning you have to rely on online text chat if something goes wrong.

Trusted by organisers across the UK

"Having worked with a number of ticketing platforms across our venues, we can confidently say that Skiddle has proven to be the best fit. The standout feature is having a dedicated account manager who is easy to reach and resolves any issues quickly and effectively, making the whole process much smoother."

The audience reach gap

The biggest difference between Ticket Tailor and Skiddle comes down to how you find your buyers. Ticket Tailor is completely silent. Once you set up your ticket link, it sits there until you drive traffic to it yourself through your own social media or email lists. If your own marketing stalls, your ticket sales stall with it.

Skiddle actively helps you fill your venue. Because millions of people use our website and app every month specifically to find things to do, your event gets seen by a huge audience from day one. Instead of leaving you to do all the heavy lifting alone, Skiddle puts your events in front of local enthusiasts who are already looking for their next live experience.

5 reasons UK promoters choose Skiddle over Ticket Tailor

one
dance

A built-in audience that helps you sell

Ticket Tailor doesn’t have a homepage or an app where fans go to browse for events. Skiddle features your listings in the UK’s most active What’s On event guide, meaning you can reach new customers who don’t already know your brand.

two
growth

Real human support on the phone

With Ticket Tailor, you have to rely on online chatbots and help articles to fix your issues. Skiddle gives you actual human backing. Our UK-based teams are available six days a week by phone and email to help you sort out any problems. Plus, if you need help when our offices are closed, we also have a full library of help articles and videos so you can find the answers you need right away.

No payment admin or chargeback stress

Because Ticket Tailor links directly to your personal Stripe account, you have to deal with the headache of customer bank disputes, card fraud, and processing fees yourself. Skiddle handles all the backend payment risk and customer billing issues for you, leaving you free to run your show.

Early payouts to fund larger events

If you are scaling up to a larger show or a weekend festival, upfront costs like venue hire and artist deposits can be massive. While Skiddle securely handles all customer payments for you, we offer early payout options for larger events. If you fit the criteria, you can apply to unlock your cash as tickets sell to keep your festival plans moving.
